Writer's Block

Its probably the biggest writer's block ever. What kind of a blogger visits her own blog once in 2 years? One post in two years, is not a blog. Even though I have been meaning to get back to writing for a while now, I haven't got around to actually doing it. Been procrastinating it for some reason I am not sure I should even bother to explore.
Nevertheless I guess that having a one year old, who, recently has discovered the new-found freedom of cruising around the house on her own, doesn't leave time for much else. Leave alone sparing a quite moment for my musings/writings, its a wonder I ever find time to do any thing at all other than to follow my indefatigable little cruiser around in her explorations and express joy in her new findings/achievements or prevent potential misadventures. All mothers who have found themselves in this situation shall empathise with me. A one year old is quite a handful. Its reassuring to know that I have company though. So I guess I can be excused and be spared the judgement. Well, there is no one to judge actually, other than my own conscience, from whom there is no escape. Time and again I am reminded that there will always be some reason not to do it and that I would have some how done it if i really wanted to. So, notwithstanding all the lame excuses ultimately, I am to be found guilty. Guilty of bringing Calamus in to this world(out of no interest of Calamus itself) and doing a lousy job of keeping it.
So there! I admit it. I am guilty. Guilty of being biased, a bad blogger and neglecting my very own creation. I honestly feel a lot lighter now that I have come clean. Most of the time thats the best thing to do - come clean and make a fresh start. A brand new beginning in any realtionship should have no secrets or suppressd truths. Just putting it all out in the open makes it easier to work on them and builds trust. I am guilty and not shy to admit it. Well I only hope that Calamus would forgive me appreciate my efforts. No excuses this time. I am gonna pull up my socks and be a better blogger.

The Ensuing Saga of an Experience Letter!!

While sifting through my documents, I realized that I was missing an experience letter from my first employer, lets call them ABC Ltd. I decided to contact them to try to get an experience letter. I knew it wouldn't be easy because it has been nearly a decade since I left the job and the organization has undergone some changes since then. Nevertheless I had to give it a try. I messaged my then boss(Contact 1) at ABC Ltd in Facebook asking him if he can help me. My ex-boss didn't work there anymore but gave me the contact number of one of his friends/peers(Contact 2) who did. When Contact 2 didn't pick up my calls for three to four days, I decided to present my case through an SMS hoping that if I tell him the reason for my call and how I got his contact number, may be he would answer my call. So after sending the SMS, I called again. And sure enough he picked the call this time. Back to School !!!

                                        Appu started first grade a week ago. Back to school is always exciting for us. The kids look forward to seeing their friends and I look forward to the shopping and to sending them off to school after two grueling months of herding the rowdy pack! As exciting as it may be, this time of year does come with some unwanted surprises no matter how hard you try to avoid them.
